Skenes Solid But Unable to Earn Elusive Win vs. St. Louis

Blues Break 12-Game Home Point Streak In 2-1 OT Loss

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Tage Thompson scored 1:09 into overtime, and the Buffalo Sabres beat the St. Louis Blues 2-1 on Saturday night, snapping the Blues' 12-game home point streak.

Craig Anderson made 25 saves for Buffalo, which had lost two straight and six of its last seven.

Jordan Kyrou scored a power-play goal for St. Louis, and Jordan Binnington made 26 saves. The Blues had won their last four and are 7-2-2 in their last 11.

The Sabres took a 1-0 lead at 5:24 of the first period when Rasmus Ristolainen's shot from the point was deflected by Zemgus Girgensons and past Binnington.

The Blues tied it at 1-1 at 7:43 of the third period when Kyrou scored his 11th goal of the season. David Perron and Pavel Buchnevich assisted on the goal.

In overtime, Thompson took a pass from Jeff Skinner and beat Binnington with a wrist shot from the left circle.

The Sabres are now 13-13-3 at home this season and 2-3-1 in overtime.

The Blues are now 13-8-3 on the road this season and 2-2 in overtime.

The two teams will meet again on Monday night in St. Louis.
