Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR), the two-time Cup-winning team that has captured 69 checkered flags in NASCAR's top division, will close its doors at the end of the 2024 season.
The announcement was made in a joint statement issued by co-owners Gene Haas and Tony Stewart on Tuesday, May 28th.
Gene Haas to Remain in Cup Series
Despite the closure of SHR, team owner Gene Haas will continue to field one car in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2025.

Team Structure in 2024
For the remainder of the 2024 season, SHR will maintain its four-car lineup in the NASCAR Cup Series, as well as field two cars in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
Co-owner Tony Stewart will continue to drive the No. 14 Ford Mustang in the Cup Series.

“After much consideration, Tony and I have decided to close Stewart-Haas Racing at the end of the 2024 season,” Haas said in the joint statement. “This was not an easy decision, but it is the right one for both of us.”
