Mavericks Tie Series with 116-111 Victory

The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 116-111 on Friday night at Crypto.com Arena to even their Western Conference semifinal series at 1-1. Luka Doncic led the way for the Mavericks with 30 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists. Kristaps Porzingis added 23 points and 12 rebounds, and Jalen Brunson chipped in with 21 points.
The Clippers were led by Paul George's 28 points. Kawhi Leonard did not play due to knee inflammation, and his status for Game 3 is uncertain. Nicolas Batum added 19 points, and Reggie Jackson had 17 points.
The Mavericks took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Clippers 33-19. Doncic was particularly effective in the period, scoring 12 points and dishing out 4 assists.
The Clippers made a run in the fourth quarter, but the Mavericks held on for the victory. Doncic hit a clutch three-pointer with 2 minutes remaining to give the Mavericks a 112-107 lead. The Clippers had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds, but George's three-pointer bounced off the rim.
The series now shifts to Dallas for Games 3 and 4. Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday night at American Airlines Center.
